Halfway Crooks is back this Saturday night at Phoenix! We realised we missed our first birthday! Oh well.
Come celebrate our 14th month with us this weekend.
Halfway Crooks is back this Saturday night at Phoenix! We realised we missed our first birthday! Oh well.
Come celebrate our 14th month with us this weekend.
10 dudes came round for dinner the other night and received the works: cheeseburgers with bacon, pickles, red onion and rocket on a charred bun. I tried to cook em pretty rare too.
After smashing 2 burgers each and a handful of hand cut fries, I still had the deep fryer going and a bunch of leftover pickles. I make my own dill pickles using cucumber grown by B’s Dad and they’re super tasty. I’d read about deep frying pickles over at Meatwave and decided to give em a try. We didn’t have any cornmeal in the house so I used masa. Different but good.
They came up terrific, the batter of masa and flour puffed up and went nice and crispy while the pickles stayed juicy. The taste was off the hook. Deep fried pickles would be the ultimate bar snack! Serve them with some toothpicks and some good beer. Mmmmm.
So my housemate Jeremy convinced me to buy the new Pokemon Heart Gold game (he opted for Soul Silver), which is the first Pokemon game I’ve played since I stole a kid I was babysitting’s Gameboy in in 1997.
I defeated the Lance bro (after 30 hours of addictive gameplay) and now have to go destroy a bunch of other pussy gym leaders in some other town. It’s a pretty great game but for real, Joey needs to stop calling me.

So for the first song of every Ro Sham Bo Sunset radio show in Autumn, Moriarty and I played a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony track. Over the course of the leafy season we played:
Thuggish Ruggish Bone
Foe tha Love of Money
Tha Crossroads
Notorious Thugs
Get’cha Thug On
Weed Song
Get Up and Get It
Down Foe My Thang
Resurrection (Paper, Paper)
Thug Luv
Creepin On Ah Come Up
(and psst… we’re gonna play 1st Of Tha Month as a BONUS song next week on the 1st of June!)
We also did a call out for listeners to decide which rap group we should play a song by for the first song each show in Winter and the response was huge! It came down to three main contenders – Outkast, Slum Village and Wu-Tang Clan – but the majority spoke and it looks like we have a WU-TANG WINTER to look forward to…
Listen to Ro Sham Bo Sunset with Levins & Moriarty, Tuesdays from 6pm – 8pm on FBi 94.5FM.
IGN has a massive new article celebrating 20 years of Mario’s dinosaur sidekick Yoshi. The little green dude is mine and Bianca’s favourite video game character ever and we can often be heard making ridiculous Yoshi noise at each other. It’s embarassing.
Also I gotta say that I actually like the game ‘Yoshi’s Story’. Stop hatin!

If you’ve ever been backstage at The Metro Theatre on George St you’ve surely seen at least one of the dozens of penis drawings that adorn the walls of the venue.
Recently I tried to take a photo of each wanger. Here’s the meaty evidence.
That’s a lot of D. If you’ve seen more than that at another venue let me know!!
Every Tuesday a combination of myself, Moriarty, Jimmy Sing and Spruce Lee host Ro Sham Bo Sunset, a radio show on FBi Radio in Sydney.
Last Tuesday, the 20th of April, I was left to the show on my lonesome and decided to dedicate almost the entire show to the herb most people celebrate with on 4/20 day.
A bunch of people have asked me to upload the show, particularly the last hour where I mixed nothing but weed classics, so here it is! Spark up!
This was recorded and broadcasted live from FBi, in the last 20 mins my buzz was totally harshed by hearing about the death of Guru. I played Take Two And Pass from Gang Starr’s Daily Operation as a tribute to both Guru and DA URB. Read the whole playlist after the jump!

Bianca started this great Sandwich blog where she takes a photo of all the sandwiches she eats. Since I make her an average of two sandwiches a week, there’s a few good rolls I made on the blog.
So far none have come close to this next level sandwich I made for us to eat today:
Roast pork belly, sweet pickled cucumber, pickled bamboo shoot, red cabbage, rocket, coriander and mayonnaise on long white roll. Made by Levins.
Levins and Adam Bozzetto went back to Riverina Juvenile Justice Centre in Wagga Wagga to run two days of music workshops for Australian Youth Week 2010.
We recorded 2 songs while we were there which we’ll put up on the site very soon!
