BADA BING THIS SUNDAY

Catch me playing strip club anthems in the strip club with the dude Leon Smith this Sunday from midnight!

THE HIP HOPTIMISTS

Me and my buddy Captain Franco, who you can see DJing rap with me at Halfway Crooks each month, have started an ALL NEW podcast where we discuss the biggest releases in rap each month.

It’s called The Hip Hoptimists.

We recorded the first episode in my living room on Sunday and man is it way too easy to talk about rap! What I imagined to be a half hour long podcast broke the hour mark! Listening back though I think it’s pretty entertaining and as our first attempt at podcasting I’m happy with it, at the very least it’s the start of something awesome.

The albums we talk about in the first episode are Watch The Throne by Jay-Z and Kanye West, Ferrari Boyz by Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame, Game’s The R.E.D. Album and Lil’ Wayne’s The Carter IV. You might wanna try listen to them before you listen to our podcast but I think we do a reasonable job of explaining each release with a little bit of background.

Check out our new site and please subscribe to The Hip Hoptimists! We’re gonna try put out a new episode in the first week of each month that looks at the month in rap that preceded it. Pretty fancy!

Also please shoot through feedback about the first episode, maybe some albums you’d like us to look at next month, some hilarious segment ideas, we’re all ears. Follow us on Twitter too!

CLUB AL IS BACK

Hi! I’m bringing Club AL back this Saturday night in the front bar at Goodgod Small Club! From midnight I’ll be playing records, jumping from genre to genre and sharing some terrific vibes with those who choose to be attendance.

Get yourself in the mood with these Club AL mixtapes I made earlier in the year, they are some cool tapes that I’m pretty proud of.

Club AL Volume 1

Club AL Volume 2

Club AL Volume 3

I’m making a new Volume of the Club AL mix series, I started the year promising to make a new mix every month but then I opened a kitchen like the worlds stupidest asshole so I haven’t made shit since April. This next one better be good right?

PS. Thanks to Joe Laney for making all the dope little Club AL banners.

RE-BOMBED

The other night I was stopped at Goodgod by a dude with them short dreads and he asked “hey are you that photobomber guy?” “Why yes I am” was my reply, and to it he added “you totally photobombed me at Splendour!”

What a fucking gamechanger” I thought with italics, it was the young fellow you can see on the phone above. And if you look below you can see us re-stage the Splendour photobomb in all its double phone glory.

Also it got the more recent essential photobomb addition – PIT STAINS.

ME PHOTOBOMBING ME

Dan Boud of Boudist took my picture for this month’s Time Out Sydney. Ever the smarty pants, Dan thought it would be a cool idea to have me photobombing my own photo. I obliged and some magic (and photoshop) went down.

You can read what Dan had to say about the shoot here. Thanks to him, and to Myffy of Time Out for awarding my hot dog 2nd place in her countdown of the best dawgs in Sydney. Come eat one at The Dip some time!
